I'm Back

We had a nice time away at Grand Bend. Yes, Grand Bend. The place where police were searching all week for a guy wanted in a triple murder. Police were everywhere, as well as copper choppers flying overhead every single day. Reminded me of when we went to Florida last October and the police were looking for an escaped convict inside the compound. Scroll down and read about Sunday's happenings if you don't want to read all of our Sunny Adventures. The first paragraph is pretty funny though.

So back to our holidays. We swam, we beached, we ate, we mini-golfed, we (not me) 18-hole golfed, we ate some more, we shopped, and Thumbelina slept! Slept, people, slept! Maybe she was just worn out from the day's activities, or maybe she just likes sleeping with her Mamma in a double bed without the Daddy...do you remember the show from the early 90's called Dinosaurs? And the baby dinosaur always called the Dad "Not the Mommy"? Heh. Anyway, our sleeping arrangments were not ideal, but they worked. And last night's sleep was pretty horrible, so I told Husband this morning that we either need to get two double beds or a king-sized bed. There isn't room for either so it isn't going to happen.

I'll get to the good stuff now and give you pictures:

First time at the beach:

Miss Thumbelina was not a fan of the sand and would only sit on my lap while she gingerly tested it with her toes (and yes that is the stroller wheel you see...do you know how hard it is to drag a stroller through beach sand? It's futile):

Such form:

My offspring:

Husband:

Quite awhile ago, Zoomer taught Thumbelina a really funny face. That same day I was quite frustrated with the boys, so I held my hands up, made a similar face and said These boys are driving me crazy! So now she does her own version of the Frustrated Face:

I crack myself up:

Swimming at the pool:

On the way to the beach:

This lady was staring at us, grinning, until I got my camera out to take pictures of the boys in the water, and I mean from the moment we got there, got our stuff set up and situated, and the boys got into the lake and I started snapping pictures she was staring at us:

It was a little chilly:

Miss Thumbelina likes sand:

Copper Chopper keeping us safe:

Enjoying lunch at Tim's:

I like taking close-ups:

Unfortunately, not everybody is a fan:

But Tigger is:

Learning to play golf:

She plays like I do - grab the ball and plop it in the hole:

And thus concludes this summer's holidaying delight.

It's Vacation Time!

We are off tomorrow to enjoy almost a week of relaxing in the sun. Unless of course it rains...then we'll still be relaxing, just not in the sun.

So because I'm super busy and because it is almost time for Thumbelina to get up for her first evening shift, I will leave you with pictures from earlier this afternoon. Husband's sister and her husband are home from the City of Twins. aka the Twin Cities. You get it? Hah! I crack myself up.

Okay, I'll just shut up now and show you the pictures:

No dessert until you finish your supper!

Thumbelina and Aunt JB:

Thumbelina and Uncle AB:

And with Aunt Allie:

Isn't she just the sweetest!

Heh. I talked Shaggy into letting me take this picture of him, because I thought it would be funny in years to come to show at his graduation or wedding:

Getting ready to serenade us:

I didn't get a picture of Uncle Louie holding Thumbelina, so this will have to do:

Ooops, sorry Zoomer...I cut off the top of your head:

Try not to miss me too much!

This Thing Called Sleep

It is eluding our household. And we are tired. And sick. Except for Thumbelina.

On Monday, the Little Miss decided that 4:21 am was the perfect time to start her day. No, that is not a typo. You'd think that she'd be exhuasted by 9:00 am right? Wrong. She only had an hour nappy throughout the day. She was, however, asleep by 6:30 that night. But then she awoke at 10:00 and was up until 3:00 am. In the morning. And I was up with her. And I could feel myself getting sick.

On Tuesday I was sick and took 2 antibiotics before I went to bed. They were Husband's, leftover from our trip to China. I know, I know, but I had an ear infection.

On Wednesday I went to the doctor to get my diagnosis of my ear infection and to get my own prescription. Which is the same drug that I had taken the night before, so all is well. I told Husband that I was not physically able to get up with Thumbelina during the night. I think they came to bed at 1:00 am.

On Thursday Little Missy was crabby crabby and nothing made her happy. She went to sleep by 8:00 last night, but was up from 11:00 to 2:00 am. In the morning. And me with her. She slept in her crib for 45 minutes and then woke up screaming. Screaming. And she was so upset that she had to sleep on top of me. On top of me.

And my ear still hurts.

And I don't know how to help her sleep better.

I Want to Scream

I am so grossed out, I think I'm going to be sick.

This morning I found a spider stuck in a tin foil type cooking pan. I had brought a box of stuff up from the basement the other day, getting ready to give to Goodwill, and I think this thing was living inside the box. The box is now on the back porch because I can't touch it. And I have the creepy crawlies all over me.

The spider sure looked like a Brown Recluse, but according to Mr. Google, it isn't supposed to be in the Great White North...it's only as far North as Ohio. But still. I don't know what else kind it could be. I sprayed half a can of Raid on it, so it's all nicely curled up in a little ball. It looked like one. It acted like one. And I am so freaked out because my laundry room is down in the basement...plus we have a lot more clearing out to do...plus Zoomer lives down there...oy....

We're going to have to move.

4 Months and 10 Years

Today is our 4 month anniversary for when Thumbelina was placed in our arms. It's hard to believe that it's already been 4 months since she's been in our family, and yet it seems that she's always been a part of us. It's been a great 4 months, even though I often complain of her sleeping habits...or lack thereof...and I wouldn't trade any of it for the world.

Before I put Miss Thing down for her nap, I just wanted to shout out a Happy Anniversary to AB & JB. HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY!!! I hope the next 10 are even better than you can imagine!

Family Picnic

Yesterday was our annual family picnic, of which we came late to, and of which I got in trouble from Muther for the lateness. And I'm going to blame it all on Thumbelina...like she cares...she decided to alter her schedule just enough to delay us 90 minutes.

So let's get on to pictures, because I know that's why you all stop by here. It can't be for my intellect and wit. Don't worry, I'm not offended.

Keepin' my kerchief on for a short while:

I don't get much more relaxed than this:

I like my Dad to kiss my piggies while I have my bottle:

Picnicing wears you out:

Especially when you have to stomp on the other kids' balloons:

Oooo, me likey the swings:

And playing with my Dad:

Old people and babies, a great combination:

No more pictures, please:

I was starting to get a complex until Tigger said I could take his picture:
